METRO pays special attention to the formation and development of non-chain retail in the convenience store format. Therefore, in 2012, Fasol franchise project was launched. It was successfully launched following the School of Trade program, in which more than 14,000 entrepreneurs since 2009.

In 2021, a new concept «FASOL 2.0» was launched with a new visual identity, layout and design. New concept meets the basic needs of the consumers: everyday shopping, availability of fresh local products, food and coffee to go. Depending on the location of the store, there are distinguished two formats - "express" and "convenience store ". They differ in assortment and design elements but are united by one concept. As of today, 249 stores of the FASOL 2.0 format have been opened.

FASOL franchising model offered by the company allows METRO customers to learn how to manage their own business more efficiently. There have been developed special training manuals, master classes on optimizing business processes are held regularly, covering important topics from effective management to working with personnel.

FASOL partners receive ongoing marketing and information support from METRO to ensure high service standards and compliance with country legal requirements.

The main formats of the franchise are convenience stores and express stores. There are also joint projects with gas stations, co-branded stores with food manufacturers, kiosks at public transport stops.

Results

As of today, 1,795 FASOL stores have been opened in Russia, they are managed by 1,585 entrepreneurs.

In 2020, FASOL became the second most popular brand among franchisees in the annual RBK rating.

In 2021, FASOL ranked second in the independent BUYBRAND franchise rating.

And in 2022 it ranked third in the grocery store category of the TOP-500 best franchises according to Businessmens.ru.
